Fifer (1840-1938) was governor of Illinois 1889-1893. A civil war soldier he was wounded during the Vicksburg Campaign. This book is signed both by the author and by Fifer. $95.00

Nixon, Charles. E.,, Iroquois Theatre, 1903, Reproduction of Program for November 23, 1903, and a lengthy description of the theatre. 93 pages, cloth, very good. This booklet was issued just a month before the theatre burned on December 30, 1903, killing over 600 people. Advertised as fireproof the theatre proved the opposite. A ticket stub is glued to the top of the first blank fly. $125.00
